Event Details
The Health Awareness Camp organized by JCI Ponda provided free health check-ups and awareness sessions on preventive healthcare for the local community members, with a special focus on underprivileged sections of society.
The camp was set up at the Community Center in Ponda and was operational from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A team of 15 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, volunteered their services for the camp. The camp offered various health services, including general health check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, eye check-ups, and dental check-ups.
In addition to the check-ups, several awareness sessions were conducted throughout the day on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, maternal health, and prevention of common diseases. These sessions were designed to be interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and seek clarification on health-related concerns.
A special desk was set up to provide information about government health schemes and how to access them. Volunteers assisted community members in understanding the eligibility criteria and application process for these schemes.
The camp also included a free medicine distribution counter, where prescribed medicines were provided to those in need. Additionally, nutritious food packets were distributed to all participants.
The Health Awareness Camp was a significant success, serving over 300 community members and providing them with essential healthcare services and information. The initiative highlighted JCI Ponda's commitment to community welfare and public health.
